Saltwater Cowgirls began in 1999 as the first all female surf camp on the East Coast! Owner/Camp Director Lesley "Stix" Curry was one of the original surf instructors. As a college athlete in basketball and tennis, Lesley always wanted to coach. Learning to coach surfing opened up a a whole new world! She began traveling to surf and moved to Costa Rica in 2005 to work at several resorts as a surf instructor. In 2008, she returned home to Jacksonville and had the opportunity to take the helm of Saltwater Cowgirls. Since then, SWCG has grown each year offering quality surf instruction with an all female staff through summer camps, group/private lessons and partnering with local organizations for special events.
